The BUS Announces Resumption of Full Service
and Route Modifications
THE BUS Stillwater, OSU


Stillwater , Okla. – With the start of the fall semester THE BUS, the OSU / Stillwater Community Transit System, will resume full transit service to Stillwater on August 22 nd . Over the summer transit service on the community routes has been curtailed to daytime service only and the campus services was limited to the Gold Route . With the resumption of the full array of transit, evening service provided by the Gold and Green Routes operating until 10:30pm will be restored. Additionally, the on-campus Orange Route operating every 15 minutes and the on-campus Black Route operating every 7 minutes on will resume. All community routes will remain in service as they have been all summer.

In addition to full service being restarted, THE BUS is announcing several changes to the community routes. These route modifications on the Scarlet, Gray, Brown, and Purple Routes are designed to better serve the Stillwater residents as well as OSU Students, Faculty, and Staff.

The Scarlet Route , which provides service to downtown, the Stillwater Library, and eastern Stillwater every 45 minutes will be extended to a new service area beginning August 22 nd . The Scarlet Route will serve the Jardot and Virginia Streets area on the inbound portion of the route only. This is response to new residential development in the area.

With the opening of “The Links of Stillwater” residential development on North Washington , the Gray Route will be extended to serve that part of town. Instead of the Gray Route going north on Perkins from Airport Road , the route will now go west on Airport to Washington , north on Washington to Richmond and then east back to Perkins. Beside The Links development, the route will now provide service to Richmond School and businesses on Airport Road . The frequency of service will remain at 30 minutes.

The Brown Route , which terminated at the Meridian Technology Center will now loop around the Technology Park on Innovation Way . The route will continue service to Westbrook Apartments, Stillwater Medical Center , and “The Famous Strip” on Washington . THE BUS will arrive at each stop every 45 minutes.

Finally, the Purple Route will no longer serve the Technology Park on Innovation Way but will be extended to Squires Landing Apartments. Besides Squires Landing, the Purple Route serves West 6 th Street and the OSU Greek housing area. The route will continue to operate every 30 minutes.
