Stillwater , Okla. – The Bus is pleased to announce that OSU System CEO and President David Schmidly will ride The Bus as a celebrity passenger on Wednesday, April 20.
“The Bus offers a valuable service to our campus and community and I look forward to this opportunity to visit with students, faculty and staff,” Schmidly said. “I applaud Transit Services for holding this fun and clever campaign.”
President Schmidly, along with Chief of Staff Al Goodbary, will ride the Orange route from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Students, faculty and staff can use this mobile town hall as an opportunity to discuss issues facing OSU with the president. Look for special signs on the Orange route that denote which of the three Orange route buses will be carrying the President.
“We welcome President Schmidly to this event,” said Hugh E. Kierig, Department of Parking and Transit Services manager. “Past participants in this event have found it a wonderful way to meet those who ride The Bus regularly as well as those who want to specifically meet the celebrity passenger.”
The final celebrity rider to participate this spring in The Bus' “You Never Know Who You'll Meet on The Bus” campaign will be Stillwater City Commissioner Tom Dugger.
The Bus has featured several celebrity riders throughout the spring including Stillwater Mayor Bud Lacy, SGA President Joe St. John, and Stillwater City Commissioners Ruth Ann Kennedy and Tom Williams.
